First it was Mexico, and now it's a Canada-cave. After president Donald Trump threatened tariffs on both of our neighboring countries, Mexico stepped up to meet Trump's demands, and now outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Trump agreed to postpone the tariffs for at least 30 days, and then Trudeau posted about it on X, stating that Canada will implement a new $1.3 billion dollar border plan, that will reinforce the border with nearly 10,000 troops (just like Mexico) to stop criminals, cartels, and fentanyl.
Trump then replied on Truth Social: “Canada has agreed to ensure we have a secure Northern Border, and to finally end the deadly scourge of drugs like Fentanyl that have been pouring into our Country, killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, while destroying their families and communities all across our Country.”
“I am very pleased with this initial outcome, and the Tariffs announced on Saturday will be paused for a 30 day period to see whether or not a final Economic deal with Canada can be structured,” Trump wrote. “FAIRNESS FOR ALL!”
The winning continues.
