Saginaw Police Detective Albert Presley was assigned to the case, but had no leads on the thief or the stolen bike, despite his best efforts. Understanding how much the bike meant to the man, he decided to step in and help in a different way.
To get the resident back on the road, Presley used his own money to buy him a brand-new bike. A photo shared on social media by the Saginaw Police Department captured the man’s joy as he received the unexpected gift. The department praised Detective Presley’s generosity, well-known compassion, and commitment to the community.
“This is the smile on the face of an individual who has rediscovered his joy,” the department writes. They explained that after failing to find leads in the case, Detective Presley took it upon himself to help the man. The department commended his kindness, calling it an act that went beyond duty, truly making a difference in someone’s life.
