Criminal illegal aliens may start filling up a detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba sometime this month.
President Trump's border czar Tom Homan said he would like to start moving migrants there in the coming weeks.
"Hopefully within 30 days we’ll start moving people there," Homan told the Washington Post this week.
Homan is expected to travel to the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay soon to get a firsthand look at construction of the facility. President Trump announced on Wednesday that the facility would be used to house as many as 30,000 migrants.
The U.S. naval base in Gitmo already houses a migrant facility that is separate from the high-security U.S. prison for foreign terrorism suspects.
