(Rock Island, IL) -- Shocked is the word leaders of an area organization dedicated to finding missing persons is using to describe their reaction to yesterday's revelations that a report of a missing four year-girl were fake.
The Quad Cities Missing Persons Network helped Rock Island Police co-ordinate the search for Blessing Aochi when she was reported missing after her mother's car was stolen two weeks ago.
A nine hour search was carried out while police say the girl's mother hid the child at home.
The family has now fled Rock Island.
A warrant for filing a false report has been issued for the girl's mother.
