Evolving 2025 Reds Opening Day roster

Here's a look at where things appear to stand.

Jeff Brantley says he thinks there will be some roster surprises that nobody saw coming.

11 of 13 position players spots feel accounted for, for the moment:
Jeimer Candelario (B), Elly De La Cruz (B), Santiago Espinal, Jake Fraley (L), TJ Friedl (L), Austin Hays, Gavin Lux (L), Matt McLain, Jose Trevino, CES, Stuart Fairchild (out options).

Questions for two remaining spots:
Opening day status of Spencer Steer.
Options if Steer is on IL: Jacob Hurtubise (L), Blake Dunn
Backup catcher to Trevino: Austin Wynns or Will Banfield

IL: Tyler Stephenson

Rotation (4 of 5 spots taken) Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo (L), Brady Singer, Nick Martinez

Questions about/options for 5th spot:
Will Andrew Abbott be ready by Opening Day?
Does Graham Ashcraft slot into the rotation if Abbott is not ready?
Does Carson Spiers slot into the rotation if Abbott not ready and Ashcraft goes to the bullpen?

Bullpen (6 of 8 spots appear taken) Alexis Díaz, Taylor Rogers (L), Brent Suter (L), Emilio Pagán, Scott Barlow, Tony Santillan (out of options).
Questions with two spots to fill:
Does Sam Moll (L) make it with his struggles (19.29 spring era? Does LHP Joe La Sora get his spot? Is this what Brantley was hinting at?
Does Ashcraft go to the bullpen if Abbott is ready for rotation?
Others in consideration: Ian Gibaut, Alex Young (L), Carson Spiers, Lyon Richardson
