Louisiana's public education scores are showing great improvement from pre-pandemic levels.
On Wednesday, Gov. Jeff Landry and local leaders bragged about the results shown in the 2024 Nation's Report Card.
In 2019, Louisiana was ranked 49th in the nation in fourth- and eighth-grade math and reading scores. Louisiana is now in 32nd place.
The state's fourth-grade reading scores soared from 50th place to 16th best in the nation.
Superintendent of Education Cade Brumley says there's still work to be done.
