Four years ago, Jason Fauntleroy bought a vacant lot in Butler County, Ohio for $5-thousand, and was happy with the deal. Now, it turns out he bought a bit more than he was aiming for. The city of Trenton says he not only bought the vacant lot, but an entire street in Trenton, Ohio named Bloomfield Court. The private street serves five homes, but it may not be private for long.

The city of Trenton has started eminent domain proceedings to take the street from Fauntleroy and turn it into a public street, something he plans to fight. He says he wants compensation for the street, which is required by Ohio state law for eminent domain actions. Originally, just the lot was appraised for the sale, and no one seems to know how he wound up owning the entire street.
