Bill Belichick made a flippant comment about renaming the Lombardi trophy for Tom Brady considering his six titles and while some people took the suggestion seriously, Dan scoffs at the idea. If you want to rename the MVP for Tom Brady, that might be a conversation worth having, but Vince Lombardi’s contributions to the very foundation of the NFL will forever be incomparable.
Dan Patrick: “Why are we taking Lombardi off the trophy? He was instrumental in the beginning part of the NFL, Super Bowl; Super Bowl I & II. I think he won five NFL titles total, two Super Bowls. Leave him on there. He didn’t do anything! And Tom Brady, you want the MVP, great.”
