Iconic MTV host Matt Pinfield recently suffered a massive stroke that left him "incompetent," according to his daughter Jessica. As TMZ reports, Jessica filed a temporary conservatorship over her father after the medical event happened on January 6 because she's worried his girlfriend will take funds from his bank account.

In the legal filings, she claimed he is "incompetent to make health and financial decisions." Jessica hopes to oversee his money and apartment because she and her sister Maya are concerned about his girlfriend having access to his accounts.

The 63-year-old was best-known for hosting MTV's influential alt-rock show 120 Minutes from 1995-1999, and again on MTV2’s revival from 2011-2013, and having vast musical knowledge. He went on to become vice president of A&R and Artist Development for Columbia Records before going back to his roots in hosting radio shows.

Pinfield shared an Instagram post on the same day he suffered the stroke. "Starting another week with gratitude for a life surrounded by great people, life changing music, and unforgettable experiences that I never take for granted," he wrote alongside a photo of himself being filmed. "Here to another week-another day-open heart and open mind. Let’s rock!"
