Queen’s iconic guitarist Brian May, who also has a PhD in astrophysics, has a fascinating passion for all things Star Wars. His wife, British actress Anita Dobson, reveals that Brian is an avid collector of Star Wars toys. "He’s a big collector," she says. "He buys a packaged one and one that he can have for the grandkids." Among his vast collection, Brian's favorite is the little green guy, Yoda.
Anita shares that while Brian's collecting has eased off a bit over the years, his enthusiasm for Star Wars remains strong. She humorously describes their household dynamic, saying, "I always think I’ve got to have a clear out, and a lot of my clothes go to the local hospice. But there’s so much stuff. The way I look at it, my husband is a hoarder and I’m a semi-hoarder." Despite her efforts to manage the accumulation of items, Brian's cleverness often prevails. "Any little things that come in that you think are useless he will go, ‘No, no, don’t get rid of that because it might come in useful.’ And it does," she adds.
In addition to his Star Wars collection, Brian is also a dedicated collector of Queen memorabilia. His treasures include costumes he wore on stage and at photo shoots, records, one-off releases, and items related to astronomy and prehistoric creatures.
