An aquarium in Japan came up with a creative solution to cheer up lonely sunfish.
The Kaikyokan Aquarium in Shimonoseki City, Japan had to temporarily close its doors in December 2024 to undergo renovations.
While the aquarium was closed, staff noticed the sunfish lost his appetite after a week without guests.
To cheer up the fish, workers attached pictures of faces and clothing around the tank to mimic visitors.
Soon after, the sunfish regained its appetite.
