It was on this day in 1969 (January 30) the Beatles went up on the rooftop of the offices of their multimedia corporation Apple Corps at 3 Savile Row. Joined by keyboardist Billy Preston they lit into a 42-minute set, playing nine takes of five songs before the Metropolitan Police Service asked them to reduce the volume. It would be the band's last concert together. Footage from the performance was later used in the 1970 documentary film Let It Be, which recently got a remake courtesy of Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.
