NASA is hosting a Day of Remembrance at the Kennedy Space Center tomorrow to honor astronauts who have sacrificed their lives while furthering the cause of space exploration and discovery.
The event is held every year to honor the crews of Apollo I and space shuttles Challenger and Columbia.
In addition to an observance at Arlington National Cemetery, there will be a gathering at the Kennedy Space Center's Space Mirror Memorial.
It will include remarks from the son of an Israeli astronaut who died in the Columbia disaster that happened 22 years ago on February 1.
January 28th will mark the 39th anniversary of the Challenger disaster.
Apollo I was scheduled to launch in February of 1967, but a fire killed the crew during a pre-launch test on January 27th.
The ceremony at the Kennedy Space Center will stream live on the center's Facebook page at 10 a.m.
