A North Carolina man claimed to have killed his wife over her alleged cheating and shared a Facebook post confessing to the incident before turning the gun on himself as part of a suspected murder-suicide incident, the New York Post reports.
George Lesniak, 63, a former vice president at Autel Automotive Intelligence USA, posted, "My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed, I’m about to kill myself," on January 18, before both were found dead inside their home by police. The suspect reportedly shot his wife, Cathleen Lesniak, 59, just after 6:00 p.m. ET, according to the Fuquay-Varina Police Department.
George was reported to have sustained a "self-inflicted fatal injury" when he was located in the five-bedroom, four-bathroom home in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, which is located about 18 miles southwest of Raleigh. The since-deleted Facebook post was shared on a group page aimed at technicians who performed ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations on vehicles.
Lesniak, who served as an administrator, told the other users to figure out the future of the Facebook group themselves.
George and Cathleen were married for more than 34 years prior to the suspected murder-suicide incident, which hasn't officially been confirmed by authorities. Police said there was no threat to the public, however, launched a thorough investigation due to the "complex nature" of the incident.
“This incident is deeply tragic, and we urge the community to keep the family in their thoughts during this challenging time,” officials said via the New York Post.
