Gov. Jeff Landry is lately traveling around the state in a small passenger plane the Louisiana State Police bought for $5.5 million in September.
The 2019 Pilatus single-engine turboprop plane is marketed by its Swiss manufacturer mainly as a business plane. But it can also be used for cargo hauling, medical assistance, or search and rescue.
The plane replaces two obsolete helicopters used by the three previous governors over the past 20 years.
