Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II are declaring Saturday as Honolulu Blue Day in Michigan.
The Lions will take on the Washington Commanders on Saturday at 8 p.m. at Ford Field.
Whitmer says, " GRIT lies at the foundation of the Michigan spirit and drives the Detroit Lions, fueling us to dig deeper, push harder, rise above any challenge, and outplay any opponent, no matter their size or strength.
The governor says, "I encourage every Michigander to join me in throwing on our Honolulu Blue and cheering on the Lions this Saturday. One Pride!"
The Lions earned a #1 seed for the playoffs and received a bye-week for the first round of games.
"As a lifelong Lions fan and a proud Detroiter, this moment [is] everything to me. Growing up, I watched this team fight through every challenger, and seeing the Lions now at the top of their game is inspiring to everyone across Michigan," says Gilchrist.
