Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus and other artists will also perform at inauguration events when President-elect Donald Trump takes office. The confirmation arrives shortly after it was revealed that Carrie Underwood would sing “America the Beautiful” at Trump’s inauguration.

Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Cyrus, Kid Rock and The Village People will reportedly take the stage at an inaugural rally on Sunday, January 19, ahead of Inauguration Day on Monday, January 20. The Village People posted a statement on the group’s Facebook page on Monday (January 13) regarding their invitation from Trump’s campaign to perform. The statement reads, in part: “We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics. Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost. Therefore, we believe it's now time to bring the country together with music which is why VILLAGE PEOPLE will be performing at various events as part of the 2025 Inauguration of Donald J. Trump.”

I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future,” Underwood said in a statement after news broke on Monday (January 13) that she would perform at Trump’s Inauguration. Some have noted that until her Inauguration Day performance, Underwood has opted to “stay far out of politics,” she said in a 2019 interview with The Guardian. Underwood said at that time: “I feel like more people try to pin me places politically. I try to stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins. It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.”

Underwood will perform alongside the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. She’s expected to perform between J.D. Vance’s Vice Presidential Oath of Office, and before Trump’s Presidential Oath of Office. Lee Greenwood and Christopher Macchio are also set to perform on Inauguration Day.
