Lend a Helping Can raises money for 12 New England charitable agencies to feed the Needy and Homeless.

 

SSOTD: New Program Plans to Bring Healthcare Providers to Underserved Areas

The Nevada Treasurer's Office will be launching a new program that plans to bring more Health Care Providers to underserved areas in the state of Nevada.

Zach Conine, Nevada's state Treasurer, announced the start of this program called Nevada Health Equity & Loan Assistance, or HEAL.

This new program will provide healthcare workers with up to $120,000 in student loan repayment in exchange for committing to serve the undeserved areas in Nevada.

Anyone approved for the program will have to practice in a rural or underserved urban community in Nevada for at least five years!

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Nevada, work in eligible healthcare profession, and be licensed or registered to practice in Nevada.

This program will be eligible to the following healthcare professions:

  • Audiologists;
  • Clinical Professional Counselors;
  • Dentists;
  • Doulas;
  • Emergency Medical Technicians;
  • Nurses;
  • Licensed Attendants;
  • Midwives;
  • Optometrists;
  • Paramedics;
  • Perfusionists;
  • Pharmacists;
  • Pharmacy Technicians;
  • Physicians;
  • Physician Assistants;
  • Practitioners of Respiratory Care;
  • Psychologists; and
  • Social Workers.


You can apply for this program starting Jan 15, 2025. The application closes on Feb 13, 2025.

The Treasurer's Office will hold four virtual webinars during that time to help with any questions about the application process.
