A second collision involving a Brightline train in as many days, this time in Vero Beach.

The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says a woman was walking at the 12th Street crossing very close to the train last night when the locomotive side-swiped her and nearly ripped her arm off her body. She was treated at the scene by deputies and then fire rescue crews rushed her to the hospital.

The driver of a car that appeared to cross the tracks in the path of a Brightline train in North Miami Beach on Wednesday was injured when the train slammed into the rear of the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has taken over the local investigation into the Brightline train collision with a Delray Beach fire truck last month.

That move was made at the request of Delray Beach Police.

Three firefighters and a dozen train passengers were injured and it's now been learned that the driver of the fire truck once had his license suspended.

Four firefighters have been put on administrative leave pending the investigation.
