As expected, Judge Juan Merchan sentenced President-Elect Donald Trump to unconditional discharge in the Manhattan business fraud case.
Trump will not serve any jail time as a result of his conviction on 34 counts earlier this year. There are no conditions attached, and there is no probation.
Merchan's sentence is imposed after Trump's attorneys lost an attempt to have the US Supreme Court step in and delay sentencing.
Trump has maintained his innocence in the case and repeatedly railed against it as an example of "lawfare" promoted by Democrats in an effort to hurt his election efforts ahead of November.
