Education officials from the state, the region and the nation are keeping an eye on a major software breach that may have placed millions of pieces of personal information of students and teachers at risk.
The company PowerSchool says information its software handles includes things like attendance and grades to health and family data.
Many school districts across the state use this program and families are urged to enroll in identity protection to ensure their children's data is safe.
It's unknown just how many districts were affected by the breach.
There are some schools in Connecticut and eastern Mass that have been impacted.
