PASADENA (CNS) - Pasadena residents in the areas ordered evacuated due to the Eaton Fire were advised Wednesday to avoid using tap water for drinking or cooking until further notice.
Pasadena Water and Power, the Pasadena Public Health Department and the State Water Control Board encourage residents to use bottled water for all drinking purposes and personal uses, including mixing baby formula and juices, dental hygiene, dishwashing, ice making and food preparation, according to Pasadena spokeswoman Lisa Derderian.
Residents were advised that boiling, freezing, filtering, or adding chlorine or other disinfectants to the water would not make it safer to drink.
"The city of Pasadena will inform the community when tests show that the water is safe again," Derderian said in a statement. "Expected timeframe for resolution is dependent on the rapidly evolving fire, wind, and related condition."
