A fundraising campaign has been launched for three Houston firefighters who sustained serious injuries from an apartment fire earlier this week.
The Houston Professional Fire Fighters Association (HPFFA) Charitable Foundation said the campaign will assist Senior Captain Edward Escamilla and firefighters Jonathan Guzman and Darren Jones. The tree men suffered extensive burns while searching for residents in the apartment on Tuesday, January 7. All three remain hospitalized.
“The bravery and selflessness of our three brothers in the face of danger epitomize the spirit of the Houston Fire Department,” said HPFFA President Patrick M. "Marty" Lancton. “They put their lives on the line to protect others, and now it’s our turn to rally behind them and their families.
The HPFFA Charitable Foundation is now accepting donations to help cover medical expenses and rehabilitation costs for the injured firefighters and their families. Donations can be made at www.houstonsbravest.org.
