Former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton is being tapped to help New Orleans as a security consultant following the terrorist attack during New Year's celebrations.
Bill Bratton works with a New York based firm where he specializes in risk and response and his consulting contract will be paid out by a nonprofit called the New Orleans Police and Justice Foundation.
New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick announced Bratton's new role during a tense City Council meeting that rehashed failed security measures leading to the deadly ISIS-inspired attack on Bourbon Street
Kirkpatrick has been praised for improving the police department since taking it over in 2023, and she told councilmembers and residents, she would not resign.
