Born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935, Elvis would hit the scene in the 1950s, when he was discovered at Sun Records in Memphis by legendary producer Sam Phillips. With his unique blend of country, rhythm and blues, and gospel influences, Elvis brought a fresh energy to the music scene. His powerful voice, charismatic stage presence, and his ability to blend diverse genres together made him a sensation almost overnight.
In 1956, his first single for RCA Victor, "Heartbreak Hotel," topped the charts, solidifying his place in music history. Within a year, Presley’s records were flying off the shelves, and his influence was spreading far beyond Memphis, as the "King of Rock and Roll" wasn’t just changing music; he was reshaping youth culture, blurring the lines of race relations, and challenging societal norms with his electrifying performances and bold style.
