The Lumineers have returned with new music, and it's the first taste of their forthcoming new album, Automatic.

"Same Old Song" serves as the first single from Automatic, and the band's frontman Wesley Schultz sings, "I don't know what's wrong with me, I killed the mood so naturally/ The guests begin to make me feel alone/ The party has been done for hours/ I'm laying on bathroom tile spilling all my guts below the throne," and picks back up in the chorus with, "Same old song/ We sing the same old song."

And along with the release of their new track, comes its official music video, directed by filmmaker Anaïs LaRocca (Hundred Waters).

Automatic is The Lumineers' first new album in three years following their 2022 album, Brightside, and is set to be released on February 14th of this year — Valentine's Day.

In a statement, Schultz said of Automatic, "This album marks 20 years of songwriting between Jeremiah and me. The album explores some of the absurdities of the modern world, like the increasingly blurry line between what’s real and what’s not, and the variety of ways we numb ourselves while trying to combat both boredom and overstimulation."

The Lumineers' Jeremiah Fraites added, "There’s lots of love on this record."
