It’s been a full decade since Kelsea Ballerini, Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett and other artists released some of the earliest — and most iconic — hits of their careers.
Some of the genre’s hottest artists today delivered strong debut records in 2015, including powerhouse singer-songwriter Ballerini and Stapleton, who is now one of the most-winning Country Music Association artists of all time. Others continued thriving careers, including Kacey Musgraves, whose sophomore studio album Pageant Material continued to prove the Texas-born artist, undoubtedly, as a storytelling pro through her music. Thomas Rhett’s second studio record, Tangled Up, included one of the country star’s most romantic ballads of his career, “Die a Happy Man.” Mickey Guyton made her debut with “Better Than You Left Me,” which she re-recorded as a new version on her debut full-length album, Remember Her Name, in 2021.
