A Henderson mom has opened a sauna therapy studio to help people struggling with autism.

Robin Maglinti's son was diagnosed with autism at a young age, and she researched everything she could about the neurological disorder.

"It's life changing when you are a mother and you want the best for your kids," said Robin. "The spectrum is so far and wide, that you kind of have to consider what is best for your child."

During her research, she found information about the benefits of sauna therapy for autism. That's when she was inspired to open up Glow Sauna.

"One thing I've noticed for sure is his speech improved and I think the clarity, the brain clarity, he's able to get passed all the distraction, the over stimulation that he's going through on a day to day basis," shared Robin.

The studio has been a haven for not only children with autism, but adults as well.

Jordan Payne is 24-years old and has been coming to the sauna regularly. "I've been coming here and I've been sleeping a lot more," shared Jordan.

His mom, Anja says she's seen a difference in him too. "It's very calming for him, very relaxing," said Anja. "I think because that is the biggest thing for children on the spectrum because their mind is constantly running."

Dr. Sid Khurana, a medical director with Nevada Mental Health said he can see the potential benefits of sauna therapy for people with autism.

"Hyperthermia works in many ways, it one is high temperature on its own, second it can improve blood flow, third it can change how some chemicals are regulated in the brain. Those three changes can provide some relief to individuals with autism," said Dr. Khurana.

Glow Sauna Studios is open now, located at 10624 S Eastern Ave Suite M, Henderson, NV 89052.
