East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sid Edwards has a new chief of staff.
The mayor's office says Lon Vicknair will oversee all city-parish departments and coordinate special projects and interdepartmental initiatives.
Vicknair is a retired naval officer whose 20 years of service includes deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq, Bosnia, and Africa.
He also volunteers as a reserve police officer in the city of Central and is president of the Central Veterans Memorial.
