The Chicago Bears have requested permission from the Dallas Cowboys to speak head coach, Mike McCarthy about their own head coaching position. They are obviously trying to make up for their failure to consider Jim Harbaugh and/or Bill Belichick when they were available last year by publicly announcing their intention to pursue the top candidates to replace Matt Eberflus. Talking to McCarthy now just may be too little, too late for the struggling franchise.
Dan Patrick: “The Bears want to let their fan base know, ‘We are interviewing everybody,’ because this is a franchise that didn’t talk to Jim Harbaugh last year. Former Bears quarterback Jim Harbaugh. National Champion winner Jim Harbaugh. Didn’t talk to Bill Belichick. OK, this, to me, is malpractice!”
