My Epic Weekend In Pictures, Loving Ski Country!

This was a fun winter weekend in New Jersey for me. I had some fun seeing great friends for our first time since the holidays. This New Year's Eve weekend involved fun ringing in the New Year watching ABC's Dick Clark's Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest. I enjoyed the performances from Carrie Underwood, Lenny Kravitz, and several others. The rain put a little damper on New Year's Eve festivities, I just didn't feel like going out and playing in the rain. I was happy to stay in, dry, and chill watching that excellent show. I started off my New Year's Eve meeting up with friends at The Irish Cottage Inn. I never knew until a few years ago that New Year's at Midnight in Ireland happens at 7pm our time. Now that's an easier New Year ball drop for me to stay up for and enjoy! I had fun getting to ring in the earlier, Irish New Year with friends.

Thursday was fun getting back into normal routine hosting my Adopt A Pet Of The Week. Did you see him? You can see Meeko by clicking here. He is one of the cuddliest cats I have had on during my 10+ year Pet Of The Week history. Seriously!

Friday I reached out to besties Christine, Chris and Carrie. They were happy doing a chill night at their place in Hardyston. I went straight there after work. They surprised me with beer they got me for my birthday over a month ago! The holiday season with so many busy schedules, hustles and bustles. I'm very happy after a great holiday season, we're all getting chances to see each other that we normally do throughout the year. It was a great Friday night, then my friend JG alerted us that he was in town. I was able to catch up with him for a bit before going in for a relatively early Friday night.

Saturday morning I was able to get some errands done. I was able to get more cleaning done, which feels like this time of year is never fully done. Is it just me? I feel like winter is the toughest time to keep your place clean because of all the salt, dirty, snow, among other elements. All good. All part of living in the Northeast during winter.

One major highlight? Enjoying watching skiers and snowboarders from my deck! I LOVE living where we do this time of year. Ski season gets me excited for winter! Well, as much as I possibly can get excited for a cold winter. Who knows, maybe I'll get back out there at Mountain Creek and continue trying to learn how to ski!

Sunday was the last regular season week for the National Football League. I was happy to watch it with friends at The Irish Cottage Inn even though the results were mainly frustrating. My New England Patriots won instead of losing, therefore going from the first overall pick to the fourth! Then the New York Giants lost and went from 6th overall draft pick to 3rd right in front of the Patriots. Fortunately the Patriots have found their Quarterback of our future with Drake Maye. Not to brag with my friends, but he's the one I wanted all along! I'd rather have a higher draft pick but all good. Then all of the sudden I saw the breaking news on my phone that the Patriots fired their rookie head coach Jerod Mayo. I wish Jerod Mayo nothing but the best, he was a tremendous player for us and often a good, solid coach. He just wasn't ready to be a Head Coach, especially having to follow my favorite Bill Belichick, the greatest coach of all time. If we can't have Bill, then let's go get Mike Vrabel, another former Patriots player.

I'm happy the Patriots made a change, and good for the Giants keeping their head coach Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen. Even though they have struggled over years, I still honestly think they're the best options for the Giants at this point.

I ended up sleeping on my couch watching Sunday Night Football. All good.

Today was a great day for me at Trinity Rehab in Sparta. I was able to run on the Alter G treadmill 3.25 miles in 26:04. I have a long way to go getting back into my shape 9 years ago when I ran a 5K on the road with that time, but every little step can be a big one down the road hopefully. Time to start planning next weekend!
