Don’t Count Sam Darnold Out

The Minnesota Vikings got rolled by the Detroit Lions yesterday in their bid for the NFC North Division title, the #1 seed in the NFC and a bye in the first round of the NFL Playoffs. Quarterback Sam Darnold is getting blasted for his poor performance and any belief the Vikings faithful had in him has been severely shaken. Doug reminds them that they did win 14 games with Darnold, who had the best season of his career by far, so they should keep the faith.

Doug Gottlieb: “If you don’t like Sam Darnold ‘cause he was bad in that one big game, there’s going to be lots of quarterbacks you don’t like because they’re bad in a big game. Sam Darnold has an entire season of success to fall back on. You may doubt it; you’re allowed to. He threw for 35 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, 102.5 QB rating, 4,300 yards. His team won 14 games. Let’s not overreact and kill ourselves over losing to a really good Lions team in which he didn’t play well.”
