Demi Moore's Golden Globe Win Was Her First-Ever Acting Award

It's hard to believe, but at the Golden Globes last night, Demi Moore won her first award for acting. Like, EVER. And she let the crowd know it in an emotional speech that was pretty much the highlight of the night.

Demi won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for "The Substance", and noted that she's been acting for over 45 years.

She said that 30 years ago, a producer told her she was a "popcorn actress," meaning that she could, quote, "do movies that were successful and made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged."

She said she believed it, and it "corroded" her over time.

Demi said she was at a "low point," and was considering retirement, when the script for "The Substance" hit her desk. Quote, "The universe told me: You are not done."

Host Nikki Glaser followed Demi's speech with a killer joke . . . quote, "If you're a woman over 50 in a lead role, they call it a comeback. If you're a guy over 50 in a lead role, congratulations: you're about to play Sydney Sweeney's boyfriend."

This was during the show's halfway point, in which Nikki also noted that Mario Lopez had received more shout-outs from winners than God. It was one to nothing at that point.

As expected, Nikki's monologue wasn't as vicious as her usual material. But she did make one overtly political crack . . . aimed at the people in the room.

She said, quote, "You're all so famous, so talented, so powerful. I mean, you could really do anything . . . except tell the country who to vote for. But it's okay. You'll get them next time! If there is a next time. I'm scared."

She also took shots at DiddyBen Affleck"Joker 2", and RFK Jr.

But the night's edgiest bit came from presenters Seth Rogen and Catherine O'Hara . . . who talked about their (fake) work in Canada . . . including their appearances in Canadian PORN.

(WARNING: This video contains questionable sexual references. Some of this stuff was bleeped by CBS, but it's UNCENSORED here.)

As for the actual awards, "The Brutalist" won Best Movie Drama, and "Emilia Perez" won Best Musical or Comedy.

In TV, "Shogun" won big, including Best Drama and Best Actor, Actress, and Supporting Actor.  "Hacks" won Best Musical or Comedy series . . . and its star, Jean Smart, won Best Actress in that category.

Oh, and Vin Diesel and The Rock either made a show of solidarity, or proved that they still can't stand each other.

When Vin took the mic to present an award, he looked into the audience and said, "Hey, Dwayne" . . . and The Rock smiled back at him.

The Internet can't seem to decide if these guys are finally cool, or if this was the most awkward moment of the night.
