A Beaumont police officer suffered a serious head injury during a disturbance early this morning. Officers were called to Little Woodrow’s in the 6400 block of Phelan just past 1:30 this morning. Thothote officer was injured attempting to detain a person that fled in a vehicle. The suspect, 28-year old Jamaysha Butler was later apprehended in the 3800 block of Kings Row. She is charged with intoxication assault, evading, both causing serious injury to a peace officer. A second suspect, 22-year old Melissa Bell is charged with public intoxication, interference with public duties, assault on a peace officer. She also had outstanding warrants.
