Eagles' Barkley Will Sit Regular Season Finale; Ends Record Chase
(Philadelphia, PA) -- It looks like Penn State's own Saquon Barkley will not get a chance to break the NFL single season rushing record. Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni told the media that Barkley will be among the starters who will "probably" rest during Sunday's regular season finale against the Giants. The Lehigh Valley native is 101 yards short of breaking Eric Dickerson's record of 2,105 yards set in 1984. Barkley told the media on Wednesday it would have been a "full-circle" moment to break the record against his former team, but acknowledged there are "bigger" things and doesn't want to put the team at risk when the playoffs start. The Eagles are locked-in to the second seed in the NFC and will host the Packers or Commanders in the Wild Card round.
