These Country Artists Went Through Divorces, Breakups In 2024

Some country stars announced breakups or finalized divorces in 2024, including some that fans might not have predicted.

Maren Morris and ex-husband Ryan Hurd officially finalized their divorce at the beginning of the year. The two singer-songwriters were married for more than five years and share one young child together. Morris cited “irreconcilable differences” when she filed for divorce in October 2023. Morris previously said in an interview, “this year has — for a lot of people, not just me — a lot of people that are close to me have gone through it. I've known so many people that have gone through breakups or divorces.”

Around the time Morris’ divorce was finalized, her bandmate in The Highwomen, Amanda Shires, parted ways from fellow artist Jason Isbell. The pair filed for divorce after more than a decade of marriage and share one daughter. Isbell, 45, reportedly filed for divorce from Shires, 42, in mid-December 2023.

“Achy Breaky Heart” star Billy Ray Cyrus, 63, reached a settlement in his divorce from singer-songwriter FIREROSE, 34, in August. They split up less than one year into their marriage, having tied the knot in October 2023. Cyrus’ attorneys said in a statement at the time that “Mr. Cyrus is relieved to put this nightmare behind him …Our client would also like to state: ‘I’m just very relieved… and giving thanks today to breathe a sigh of relief. This has been absolutely the most crazy insane scam I have ever heard of. Let alone the fact I’m right in the center and basically the target of the scheme. It’s unfortunate… it played out this way… not only was it a web of lies that put me in physical danger… It was a matter of the heart. Love is blind … that’s for sure. B.R.C.”

Jimmie Allen’s divorce from ex-wife Alexis Gale was finalized in October. They announced in April 2021 that they decided to separate after nearly two years of marriage. Allen also revealed in that statement that he and Gale were welcoming another baby together. He confirmed earlier this year he has six children total: Aadyn, 10, Naomi Bettie, turning 5 in March, and Zara James, 3, Cohen Ace James, born in September 2023, and twins Amari and Aria, born in July 2023.

Zach Bryan confirmed his breakup from Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia in a statement on his Instagram story in October. LaPaglia said she was “blindsided” by the statement, and later opened up about the relationship and the split. Bryan said at the time, in part, that he “thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways.” LaPaglia said at that time, in part: “Remember you are so loved and everything’s always gonna be okay.”
