That old saying about how you can’t judge a book by its cover? Turns out it applies to judging cars by their driver, too. While minivans may be the vehicle driven by “soccer parents,” two make the new list of top car models with the most DUIs in 2024.

According to the FBI, nearly 1-million Americans are arrested every year for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. And new research finds that many of the cars involved in these DUIs are the same ones hauling families to school, sports practice and dance classes.

Insurify, an online insurance marketplace, analyzed their database of more than 97-million car insurance quotes to determine the car models that had the most drivers with a DUI in 2024.
“Drivers with DUIs seem to gravitate toward roomy family vehicles,” the company reports.
The car model that has the highest share of drivers getting a DUI this year is the Buick Envista, a compact crossover.
Another Buick, the Encore, a subcompact SUV, lands at number two on the list.
