A young boy is dead, after falling through ice in Yates County.
Deputies say it happened at a pond off Bath Road in the Town of Milo yesterday afternoon.
Firefighters were able to pull the 8-year-old out of the water, but he died a few hours later at the hospital.
His name is not being released, and an investigation is ongoing.
