Dating isn't always easy, even with the prevalence of apps and online sites promising everlasting love. If you're have trouble finding "the one," it may actually be because of where you live as some singles may have a harder time looking for love in certain cities than they would in others.
WalletHub compared over 180 cities around the country to figure out which are the best (and the worst!) for singles. While you may expect major destinations like New York City, Los Angeles and Chicago to top the list, the real rankings may come as a surprise. Three cities in Georgia even made the list, including one popular locale that took the top spot:
- No. 1: Atlanta
- No. 112: Augusta
- No. 150: Columbus
Coming in at No. 1 overall, Atlanta is the best city in the entire country for singles, largely thanks to its high placement in the fun & recreation and dating opportunities categories.
These are the 10 best cities for singles:
- Atlanta, Georgia
- Las Vegas, Nevada
- Seattle, Washington
- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
- Tampa, Florida
- Portland, Oregon
- Madison, Wisconsin
- Cincinnati, Ohio

To determine its ranking, WalletHub compared 182 U.S. cities across three factors: economics, fun & recreation and dating opportunities. These factors were then evaluated using 35 relevant metrics, including restaurant-meal costs, movie costs, haircut costs, housing affordability, unemployment rate, number of attractions, restaurants per capita, weather, nightlife options per capita, safety, share of single population and online dating opportunities, among others.
