Travelers at Albany International Airport will soon face higher parking fees. Starting January 1, 2025, the airport will implement new parking rates for the first time in five years. The north and south parking garages will charge $18 per day, while long-term parking will increase to $12 per day. The economy shuttle lot will cost $7 per day, and short-term parking will remain at $24 per day.

The decision to raise rates follows a study by Walker Consultants, which found that Albany's parking fees had not kept pace with inflation or similar airports in New York and New England. The study suggested that the increase would help cover rising expenses and maintain a high-quality passenger experience. The additional revenue will support shuttle services, parking facility maintenance, and capital expenditures.

Steve Smith, Director of Communications at Albany International Airport, confirmed that passengers who park before January 1 will be charged the old rates upon exiting. According to CBS6 Albany, nearly 3 million travelers pass through the airport annually, making it essential to keep facilities updated.
