Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly one-car crash on Saturday night in Ascension Parish.
Troopers responded around midnight to the accident on Highway 42 near Hornsby Road. Investigators say Richard Creel of Prairieville was westbound on the highway when he ran off the road and hit a tree.
Creel was wearing a seatbelt, but he suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Police don't suspect impairment, but they collected a standard toxicology sample for analysis.
