SZA Delays "LANA (SOS Deluxe)" But Drops New Single "Drive"

SZA was the center of attention as she hinted at the release of LANA (SOS Deluxe) all week. However, when the album was supposed to come out, it didn't. Fans were left wondering what went wrong. SZA took to social media to announce that the album's release has been postponed. In the meantime, she offered fans something new: a single called "Drive," along with a music video featuring Ben Stiller. Although the situation isn't ideal, it's still something. SZA explained that she needed more time to perfect the mixes, sharing on Instagram, "Had to get my mixes right." She assured fans that LANA (SOS Deluxe) will release on Friday morning, opting for a daytime drop like her former label mate, Kendrick Lamar. While waiting, fans can enjoy the new song. SZA previously teased part of the music video when revealing the album's release date. A short clip with Ben Stiller singing in a car built anticipation. Now that the song and video are out, it's clear SZA still has her magic. "Drive" reflects her introspective side, featuring soothing guitar melodies that fans of "Supermodel" or "Snooze" will appreciate. The video introduces a quirky, bug-like version of SZA shown on the album cover, though it's uncertain how this character fits into the album's themes. The visuals are captivating, with Stiller singing in the car and then dancing in the woods. It'll be interesting to see if he appears in future videos or if there's a broader story.

Recently, SZA has been on a creative high. "Drive" is a solid single following her impressive features on Kendrick Lamar's GNX. She shared with British Vogue that she feels good creatively, saying, "I think I am making music from a more beautiful place." Fans look forward to the complete album.
