The Omaha National Weather Service Office in Valley says rain or drizzle is expected across much of east-central and northeast Nebraska, and western Iowa Friday afternoon into Saturday morning.
They say most of the area will see a light glaze of ice to a tenth an inch.
This includes Omaha/Council Bluffs, Lincoln, and Omaha.
A possible corridor for higher ice accumulations of 0.1 to 0.2 inches stretches from Columbus to Tekamah, generally along U.S. Highway 30.
Areas along and south of "30" will likely see a change in precipitation type Friday night from freezing rain to rain, but that likely will not happen until after the Friday p.m. commute.
