GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Uninsured adults will be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at a free clinic this Saturday in downtown Grand Rapids.
The Dec. 14 event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Cherry Health’s Heart of the City Adult Medicine Clinic, at 100 Cherry St. SE. That is east of Division Avenue and near LaGrave Avenue.
Cherry Health says vaccines will be free for people who are ages 18 and older who do not have health insurance. Appointments are not required and walk-ins are welcome.
Here are more details from a Cherry Health news release:
For 2024 and 2025, the CDC recommends the COVID-19 vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older. This includes people who are pregnant, breastfeeding, trying to get pregnant now, or who might become pregnant in the future. COVID-19 vaccines for infants and children 6 months through 11 years of age are available under Emergency Use Authorization from the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Cherry Health’s free COVID-19 vaccine clinic is especially beneficial to those who might have previously received the vaccine through the CDC’s Bridge Access Program. The program provided free COVID-19 vaccines to adults without health insurance and adults whose insurance did not cover all COVID-19 vaccine costs before being discontinued in August 2024.
