A judge is sentencing a grandmother to jail time after her five-year-old grandson was shot and killed by his cousin.
Theresa Robart was sentenced to one year in the Newaygo County Jail and two years of probation.
The incident happened on April 1 when a six-year-old picked up a shot gun that was left in a bedroom where kids were watching movies and shot his cousin, Braxton Dykstra.
Robart pleaded no contest in October to second-degree child abuse and a safe storage violation was dismissed.
