Pine Rest Giving Tree seeks Christmas donations

GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services asks you to consider giving a gift to the Pine Rest Giving Tree this Christmas season.

You can donate gift cards in any amount and drop them off at the Postma Center (Building 'C') on the Pine Rest campus in Cutlerville, 300 68th St. SE, Monday through Friday during business hours. Or they can be donated online at pinerest.org/Giving-Tree.

Pine Rest and the Gaines Chamber of Commerce collaborate to collect cash and to donate gift certificates to the patients and residents who wake up at Pine Rest on Christmas morning.

The Gaines Chamber will hold its quarterly business luncheon on Tuesday, Dec. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Postma Center. This website link will direct you to the registration page.

At a quarterly luncheon in Dec. 2021, Pine Rest Foundation Executive Director Donald MacKenzie said the donated gift certificates go to the patients and residents who wake up at Pine Rest on Christmas morning.

“That’s one of those small things that we can do to let people know that they are human, that they don’t need to be embarrassed with what they’re going through. And it just allows them to really try to celebrate Christmas," he said.

“That is what Giving Tree is all about. That’s what we do at Pine Rest,” MacKenzie concluded. “We want to bring healing in Jesus Christ, and we do great work at Pine Rest.”
