A federal judge on Tuesday ended court proceedings against President Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden, but has so far refused to dismiss the case.
The Delaware judge cited Sunday night's sweeping pardon by Hunter's father, President Joe Biden, as the reason for stopping the court proceedings.
The case was set to conclude on December 12th with sentencing for Hunter, following his conviction over the summer on three felony firearms charges.
Hunter Biden's lawyers had asked presiding federal Judge Maryellen Noreika to dismiss the case, but the judge refused, at least at first.
The judge could dismiss the case at any time.
The pardon issued by President Biden covers any and all crimes Hunter has committed "or may have committed" from 2014 through the end of this year.
