Syracuse Teen and Dog Survive Shooting Incident

An 18-year-old man and his dog are recovering after being shot in Syracuse. The incident occurred on Wednesday (November 27) near 408 N. Division St. around 4:38 p.m. The young man, who was found with a gunshot wound to his lower back, was taken to Upstate University Hospital and is expected to survive, according to Syracuse.com.

The victim's one-year-old dog was also hit by gunfire. The canine was taken to the Veterinary Medical Center in DeWitt for treatment. The condition of the dog is currently unknown.

The Syracuse Police Department is actively investigating the incident. As of now, no arrests have been made. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Syracuse Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
