Ben Maller: "If you're the Raiders, when you take a couple of steps back and contemplate the space-time continuum with Daniel Jones, you realize that his rejection letter is a blessing in disguise. This is a ball player lacking the fire in the belly. Based on all of the chatter, he wants to go to a team where he won't play. What does that tell you? It is obvious to me that he would rather get his steps in on the sidelines holding a clipboard. He does not have the fighting spirit. He doesn't trust himself. He knows he can't play, and he realizes he can pull another ruse, another fast one on the NFL by going somewhere where he doesn't play, to a good team. They'll be in the playoffs, they'll be in big games, and the clueless broadcasters will say 'the coaches say Daniel Jones is looking really good in practice, somebody's going to get a really great player next year' by not playing. If he plays, the jig is up. The mustard is off the hot dog, and people see all of the mistakes."
Ben Maller reacts to the report that Daniel Jones is looking to join a playoff-bound team after being waived by the New York Giants and turning down an opportunity to sign with the Las Vegas Raiders. Ben identifies the few landing spots that would actually consider adding Jones and explains why all teams should be wary of falling for the tired cliche that all Jones needs is a change of scenery to turn his career around. Ben lays out the facts on who Daniel Jones is as a quarterback and breaks down why he believes Jones is trying to trick the league into getting one more legitimate contract.
