(Des Moines, IA) -- The 41st Festival of Trees & Lights opens this week in Des Moines. The annual fundraiser for Blank Children's Hospital typically raises abut $1 million for two key programs at Blank, Child Life and the Center for Advocacy and Outreach.
Decorators finished the trees early this week, allowing for local sponsors to bid on them. The public can then enjoy the trees at the Community Choice Convention Center on Friday, November 29th (11-7), Saturday, November 30th, (11-7) and Sunday, December 1st, (11-5).
The lower level of the convention center will be packed with family friendly activities and feature baked goods for purchase. The upper level will feature the trees along with ongoing live entertainment on stage.
There is also a more subdued, sensory day on Wednesday, November 27th, from 11-5 for sensory sensitive individuals.
Tickets are $5 per person, free admission for those 2 and younger.
